sunday shopping

Since it was raining this morning, we decided to run a bunch of errands.

While we were out, we went to Walgreens. They have a new kind of Colgate toothpaste for $4.49, with a $4.50 register reward that prints at checkout. They also have Edge shaving cream for $1.99, with a $1.00 register reward. And they have Bayer quick dissolve crystals for $2.49, with a $2.50 register reward that prints at checkout. We had printed 2 coupons for $1.50 off the Bayer crystals from coupons.com a couple weeks ago (not sure if they're still being offered on the site, but worth checking if you're headed to Walgreens!), and we had a $1.00 coupon for the shaving cream from the Sunday paper, plus a $4.50 register reward from last week's shopping. So, after a couple trips through the register (you can only buy one of each register reward item per transaction in order to get the register rewards to print, but it works because you can use the rewards you get on your first transaction to pay for your next) we ended up with 2 toothpastes and 2 boxes of Bayer, plus a pack of Angel Soft that was on clearance, and a bottle of Edge shaving cream. All for a grand total of $2.37 cash out of pocket. And we now have $10.50 in register rewards from today's shopping, to spend next time.

Then we went to Market Basket and got 2 Kraft barbecue sauces for 99 cents each, and used two $1.00/bottle coupons, making them free. Also got a box of Ritz crackers, on sale for $1.50, and used a $1.00 coupon on those too, so they were 50 cents. Plus, in today's paper there was a coupon for a free box of Wheat Thins when you buy a box of Ritz, so we got those too. All said, for 48 cents cash out of pocket, we got a lot of things!

What about you - did you find any great shopping deals this weekend?
